2010 MET Ball

Last night one of the biggest events in the fashion calender took place in New York - the 2010 Costume Institute Gala. And with one of the starriest guest lists we've seen in a while - all eyes were firmly fixed on what the A-list were wearing! In keeping with the theme of the MET's 2010 exhibition, American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity, GAP was chosen as the event's official sponsor - teaming up with a range of up-and-coming designers who created exclusive dresses for the occasion. Jessica Alba wore a stunning nude dress by designer-of-the-moment Sophie Theallet, while Kirsten Dunst stepped out in a beautiful Rodarte for GAP creation. Topping my best dressed list? Sienna Miller, who smouldering in a midnight blue Emilio Pucci number, arrived arm-in-arm with Jude Law. The beautiful Diane Kruger who kept things super-slick in Calvin Klein, and Sarah Jessica Parker who dazzled in a nude-hued Halston Heritage gown. Swoooon! And while the theme may have been American, the Brits turned up in fashionable force too! Hurrah! Emma Watson lead the pack in head-to-toe Burberry while Carey Mulligan chose an understated Miu Miu dress. But top marks must be given to Alexa Chung who ditched the traditional gown in favour of a tux by Phillip Lim - proving that her 'cool' credentials remain second-to-none! Nice work Miss Chung!
