It's been on the beauty radar for a while - but the wait is finally over, as Topshop's make-up range landed in stores today. Hurrah!
In collaboration with make-up artist Hannah Murray, everyone's favourite fashion Mecca has produced two distinctive ranges. Firstly, a 'Trend Collection' which will be renewed every three months to ensure that looks are hot off the catwalk, and a 'Core Collection' of everyday essentials like bronzers, skin tints and glows.
"We wanted it to be the ultimate make-up experience at an affordable price without compromising quality," explained Topshop designer, Lizzie Dawson. "The challenge was creating something appealing to the Topshop customer, while importantly being something they'd all want and talk about."
And it seems Lizzie and her team scoured the globe for inspiration - from the beaches of Rio and the eye-popping colours of India, to the cutting-edge urban style of London, New York and Tokyo. "We were inspired by an eclectic mix of things - a sherbet lemon button from a thrift store in Brooklyn, a swatch of beautiful Japanese fabric and a beautiful patchwork scarf that was bought at Portabello."
But the big influence for the first 'Trend Collection' came from closer to home - because this season it's all about achieving the 'festival look.' "Our metallic gold and silver crayons and wet-to-dry trio eyeshadows create the perfect day-to-night festival look," insists Lizzie. "Not to forget one of my favourite products - the glitter dust pots, which are ideal for a more dramatic look."
And as for my favourites? Well, I'm currently coveting the eye pencil in sparkly navy 'Midnight' and lip glaze in coral pink 'Sorbet'. So, it looks like I'm sold. Great products, great price point, and all wrapped up in ultra-cute polka-dot and striped packaging. I'll see you in the queue...
